I've stayed at the Vienna House Easy quite a few times. It's worth paying the little bit extra for a lounge room, but even the standard rooms are quite spacious. There's not much of a view, but that's not important to me. Instead you get smiling, pleasant staff members, a first-class breakfast, a cozy hotel bar for an evening drink and/or snack, and an extra quirk factor. In the main stairwell, there are plants you are welcome to take to your room for the length of your stay. There's a hopscotch game woven into the carpet on another level of that stairwell. You may end up with the lounge room with an exercise bicycle in it. A free, large bottle of water is waiting for you upon arrival. And the beds are very comfy indeed. If you're a decent walker, you can easily get downtown without needing the car, and Coburg is a town with plenty of charm. Keep your eyes open as you walk the central streets, and you'll find yourself walking by buildings from the early 15th century. You can indulge Victoria and Albert nostalgia, visit both the strongholds of the Dukes of Saxe-Coburg (the elegant Ehrenburg in town and the massive Veste perched atop the nearby steep hill, so formidable it was never taken by force of arms). And then there's Albert's home, the Rosenau, not far outside of Coburg and the gorgeous modern glass museum along with it. Definitely worth a stay!

A small surcharge gets you a much larger room, in our case complete with a Finnish exercise bike! Plenty of storage for our stuff, not much of a view but neither my husband nor I cares about that. The bathroom has lots of space for toiletries, too (though it's a bit tight). We've stayed at the Vienna House Easy Coburg many times and it's reliably clean and comfortable, with little noise. The only flaw in our room was that my bedside light didn't work (they were waiting for delivery of the bulb), but as there was a larger lamp nearby, I had no problem reading in bed! You get a pleasant welcome from the check-in desk, and in our case, they know us from long experience. The breakfast at Vienna House is particularly good, and the staff there keep the buffet filled up, with plenty of hot and cold dishes and a coffee machine that provides a wide array of coffee drinks plus hot chocolate. It's a long-ish walk to the center of town but not a problem if you like some exercise. And Coburg is definitely worth a visit: full of buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, a palace, and atop its main hill the massive castle known as the Crown of Franconia, the Veste, so impregnable that it was a safe haven for Martin Luther, who translated part of the Bible and a separate book of psalms into German there under the protection of Duke Johann the Steadfast.

We regularly stay at Vienna House Easy Coburg when we visit my mother-in-law. The rooms are good-sized, the breakfast is generous and tasty, there's plenty of parking and the staff are great. There's a bar that's open pretty much 24 hours a day, and several grocery stores and a drug store within walking distance. My sister-in-law and niece stayed there too and we all had a blast. Coburg is a superb medieval town with a stunning, huge fortress full of excellent museums perched high above it. Definitely worth a visit! Also very close to Rosenau Castle, where Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria of Great Britain, grew up, and the beautiful modern glass museum there.

Very clean, modern room furniture with very cosy bed and many different types of pillows, excellent bathroom, and good quality towels. The staff was very friendly, the bar tender stayed longer open just for his guests. Thank you, Benjamin! Good quality drinks...

I booked for a different month, but the lady on the reception was very kind and helped me to solve the problem. The hotel is pretty far from the train station and I was very tired after the long trip when I got there. This flexibility was very much appreciated.
